Pasta+e+Fagioli Looking for a Black Eyed Peas Recipe? Delicious Ideas from Food Network ChefsCooking with and eating black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day, often with ham or other pork products, has been a tradition for centuries, believed to bring prosperity for the coming year. Bonus: legumes like black-eyed peas (little white beans with a black spot that make them resemble an eye) are among the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat, high in fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals and low in fat, so a dish of black eyed peas is a great way to kick off a healthy new year.

Fortunately, legumes are making a comeback – you’ll see them in vegetarian and meat-based dishes year-round on restaurant menus, in food magazines and on TV cooking shows. Here are some fantastic black-eyed pea recipe ideas from your favorite Food Network Chefs to ring in 2011 and help keep you well fed throughout the year.

Beyonce showcases a brand new song, “Hello”, which appears to be a love song to her husband, where she says “You had me at hello”, along with the lyrics really shows her emotion. She talks about him being her air and her life would’t be exact same with out him! Sounds like a really like song to me!
