Hazelnut Nutella Blondies
I love just about anything with Nutella in it (don’t we all?) so when I saw a version of this recipe in the recent Martha Stewart Cookies magazine I knew I had to try them. As promised, the recipe delivered moist, gooey blondies dotted with crunchy hazelnuts and swirls of Nutella. They were absolutely to die for and they were gone in a flash. While these might note be the traditional Christmas sweet treat I urge you to give them a try, your guests will go crazy for them, and you will, too.
Hazelnut Nutella Blondies
adapted from Martha Stewart
4 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
1 3/4 cups packed light-brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup hazelnuts toasted and coarsely chopped
2 Tablespoons Nutella
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Butter a 11×7 baking dish and set aside.
2. Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt and set aside. In a mixer beat the sugar and butter tunil light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until well combined. With the mixer on low, add in the flour mixture until just combined. Stir in the hazelnuts and n=Nutella.
3. Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.

Julie Anderson commented on Dec 19 10 at 10:25 amMmmm, I might make this this morning to take to Christmas #1 at my mother in law’s house. We love Nutella (it’s a staple) and it looks fancy and special. No hazelnuts, but I think I can make do with a pecan/walnut combo. Thanks for the recipe.
