Candy Cane Dessert Shooters: Two-Bites of Holiday Bliss
Last week’s Snowman Shooters were much too cute to not inspire a repeat appearance. There is something perfectly delicious about teensy bites of dessert served in little shot glasses. After all, most of us are trying to be kind to our waistlines, so little tastes of chocolatey goodness are the ideal way to have our cake and eat it, too. Or, in this case, it’s the ideal way to have your peppermint fudge, rich chocolate brownie, and cocoa-kissed whipping cream.
If you’re interested in purchasing a set of mini shot glasses, and wondering where you might find them, Cost Plus World Market sells them for about $1 a piece. Once you have them in your hand, you’re ready to start dessert shooting!
These simple Chocolate Candy Cane Shooters take just seconds to prepare, but they lend an elegant little touch to any holiday party. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can put them together, and how you’ll entirely wow holiday guests of all ages!
Chocolate Candy Cane Dessert Shooters
- 1 batch 50-second Peppermint Hot Fudge
- 8 mini candy canes, crushed
- 6 brownie bites, crumbled
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
Using an electric mixer, beat the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Slowly add the sugar, cocoa and vanilla. Whip until the cream holds its shape (but be careful not to overbeat the cream, else you’ll have butter on your hands!). Spoon into an icing bag with a large star tip on top (or, if you don’t have an icing bag, you can just spoon the cream atop the shooters).
Spoon a small amount of warm fudge sauce in the bottom of each shot glass. Sprinkle a layer of crushed candy canes on top. Fill 3/4 of the glass with brownie bite crumbles. Pipe the chocolate cream on top of the glass. Sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Julie commented on May 04 11 at 2:26 pmIs there a recipe for the brownie bites? Or do I just take any brownies and crumble them?
melissa shultz commented on Oct 14 11 at 7:47 amThese sounds absolutely yummy. Where is the recipe for the peppermint fudge. The link takes you to the snowman recipe. And that recipe does not contain peppermint. Thanks.
