Make Cookies Santa will Remember: Snickers Filled Sugar Cookies
Sugar cookies are a very popular treat to leave Santa for Christmas eve, but we thought we’d make our house stand out this year by making Santa some cookies that he’ll remember. These unsuspecting little sugar covered sugar cookies have a surprise inside that Santa will love, a miniature Snickers! I just made a simple sugar cookie recipe and then placed the Snickers inside a ball of cookie dough and rolled them in my hand. Then I rolled them in sugar and baked them. They were good cooled, but amazing just baked and warm out of the oven. If you have an unfortunate peanut allergy, just replace the snickers with a miniature nut free candy bar, like a Mars bar. Santa will be very appreciative of these cute little tasty cookies on Christmas eve. Don’t forget to leave him some milk or eggnog to go along with them.
Snickers Filled Sugar Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
3/4 cup butter, at room temperature
2 3/4 cup flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
miniature snicker bars
red and green sugar
Method
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter and sugar until light in color in your stand mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, and mix on medium until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to stand mixer, and mix until well combined.
2. To make cookies. Take about 1 mounded teaspoon of cookie dough and wrap it around the snickers bar. Roll the cookie in a circular motion in your hand until you have a nice ball. Add more dough if the chocolate is sticking through anywhere. Then roll in colored sugar
3. Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
