Shabby Apple sent me a Carrot Cake Apron to give away to our lucky readers, along with an amazing carrot cake recipe to accompany it that I can’t wait to share with you this week. This apron is perfect for fall with its orange print and light pink ties. You definitely won’t feel frumpy in this number, and it’ll protect your clothes so when you go pick up little Johnny at school no one will be staring at the pasta sauce splatters and bread dough crusties that are stuck to your t-shirt.
The giveaway will run from now until Monday, 9/13 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Each reader has two chances to win.
1. Leave a comment letting me know if you wear and apron or not! What kind of apron do you have? If you don’t wear an apron, how do you stay clean in the kitchen?
2. Head over to Twitter and tweet the following and come back and leave a comment letting me know you tweeted:

Kim commented on Sep 07 10 at 7:49 amI’m a mess in the kitchen. I rarely stay clean, so would love to have an apron :)
Leanne commented on Sep 07 10 at 8:14 amI usually do wear an apron, but it’s pretty utilitarian. Unfortunately, after a kitchen reno this summer, I can’t find any of the aprons I own! I’ve been tucking a tea towel into the top of my pants. I’d prefer a pretty, proper apron though. :)
Leanne commented on Sep 07 10 at 8:16 amI tweeted!
Susan commented on Sep 07 10 at 8:56 amI usually wear an apron when I’m doing complicated/messy things like canning, but rarely for everyday cooking…I’m the queen of the 30 minute dinner!
Dawn K. commented on Sep 07 10 at 9:18 amI need to become an apron wearer. My wardrobe is a bit more worse for the wear these days now that I’m cooking more!
The SA apron is GORGEOUS!
Jen R commented on Sep 07 10 at 10:22 amI do have an apron I wear in the kitchen (tho its not very ‘cute’). I tend to wipe my dirty hands on my pant legs… so an apron is great for me! =)
TidyMom commented on Sep 07 10 at 12:29 pmI LOVE aprons, and have 3, but most of the time I forget to put one on! lol……but once I do, I’ve been known to leave it on most of the day!
These are just ADORABLE!!
TidyMom commented on Sep 07 10 at 12:30 pm
Lisa commented on Sep 07 10 at 12:37 pmTotally. If I’m doing anything where my hands get dirty and I might be tempted to wipe them on my clothes…the apron is a MUST.

Liz@HoosierHomemade commented on Sep 07 10 at 2:10 pmI have my Mother-in-laws collection of aprons hanging on the wall in my Dining Room. And sadly usually forget to wear an apron.
I need to change that.
These aprons are super cute!

stacey commented on Sep 07 10 at 3:06 pmsometimes I forget to wear an apron, but I swear things turn out better in the kitchen when I do remember. I have several hanging in our hall closet, but some day when we’re done with school I’ll have them hanging on hooks on the wall – the hooks will be made out of bent silverware nailed into the wall of a home a bit larger than the one we’re in now. :) I love aprons!! These are so cute.
Liz commented on Sep 07 10 at 4:45 pmI never wear an apron when baking. Instead I’m usually dressed in an old t-shirt and by the end it’s always covered in flour, etc.

michelle v. commented on Sep 08 10 at 12:17 amI love aprons. I feel like I’m dressing the part of a real cook when I wear one. I don’t think you can have too many, can you?
Denise commented on Sep 08 10 at 12:27 amSporting an apron when I bake – perfect for this one too!!! I tweeted, pick me! Pick me! :)
Annetje commented on Sep 08 10 at 2:54 amLovely carrot cake recipe, will try it soon!
Love the apron in the picture, always wear one, with a teatowel tucked in the belt to wipe my hands.
Denisha commented on Sep 08 10 at 3:22 amI wear an apron and so does my 5 year old when she helps me in the kitchen. I used to work for Vons part-time a few years ago so I use that. My intention was to take off the Vons letters and find something that I really liked to replace it and have an original apron, but I can’t find anything that I like. My daughter wears one that I bought her from Target. It is so cute and looks great whether she cooks with me or uses her Easy Bake Oven!
Kate Bakka commented on Sep 08 10 at 11:23 ami usually don’t wear an apron… i just don’t have one right now, if i am attempting to stay clean i wear a kitchen towel around my waist tucked in my pants… which usually never works.
liz commented on Sep 08 10 at 2:34 pmYes, I have one apron! It is a french bistro tablecoth type apron. I love it, but have had the same one for 14 years. I could use a new one!
liz commented on Sep 08 10 at 2:35 pmI tweeted (@lizfrances)!
Wendy commented on Sep 08 10 at 11:56 pmI usually only wear an apron when I bake to keep off all the powdery ingredients tend to wipe on myself :P Its just a solid red boring apron :P
Cherie commented on Sep 09 10 at 2:37 pmUsually my husband does the cooking, but when I do, I wear a polka dot apron (my only apron!). I love all things cute, so I’d love to wear this carrot cake apron and eat carrot cake. Yum!!
Miss K commented on Sep 09 10 at 9:32 pmI don’t have an apron, but after several kitchen spills I should be wearing one!

Christina commented on Sep 11 10 at 12:37 amI have a few aprons, most of them are plain, nothing as cute as this carrot cake apron. I do have one with flowers on it that my Grandpa gave me. It’s like the ones my Grandma used to wear. And with two little boys running into the kitchen every time I start cooking (they love helping me) I certainly need the covering!
dawn commented on Sep 11 10 at 5:39 pmI wear an apron I made myself when I cook food that splatters, or when baking. It’s also very handy to wipe little hands on when they’re helping me! My girls are almost 5 and 2, and love to help stir, measure, taste test and pour!
heather commented on Sep 12 10 at 2:38 pmI wear an apron sometimes, currently have just a solid white one. Would LOVE a more fashionable apron
Claire commented on Sep 12 10 at 2:41 pmI don’t wear an apron; I just attempt to get out any food that may have gotten on my clothes. I ruined a shirt with curry oil this way once :(
Rachel commented on Sep 12 10 at 2:43 pmI wear an apron that belonged to my Grandmother. She made it herself. I never cook without it. But since the apron is getting on in years its time to get a new one.
Alicia C. commented on Sep 12 10 at 2:44 pmI wear an apron. It’s an old, beat up thing that I used to wear when I worked as a waitress. If I don’t have one on when I cook, I end up wiping my hands on my pants and then regretting it come laundry day.
jennifer commented on Sep 12 10 at 3:49 pmI love aprons! So cute and retro. My favorite one is from Anthropologie!
shelli dore commented on Sep 12 10 at 4:17 pmtweeted it!

Paulette commented on Sep 12 10 at 11:32 pmI love to wear an apron in the kitchen! I prefer to wear an apron without a top. You know one of those grandma around the waist ones!
Kate Litton commented on Sep 13 10 at 8:02 amHi There! I usually wear a pink WS apron that has seen better days. Or,one of my daughter’s art smocks–one of my husbands old work shirts! It leaves no inch uncovered for flying sauce and I can wear it over my clothes if I’m already dressed for an occasion without a worry!
