Lori Sandler had an early desire to become a baker but it wasn’t until her son was born with numerous food allergies, did she follow her dream.

Her son, Benjamin could not eat the butter and eggs that were in most bakery goods so Lori decided to create her own recipes and make sure they were great. What evolved is Divvies Bakery — a dedicated peanut-free, tree nut-free, milk-free, and egg-free facility (parts are gluten-free, too) located in beautiful South Salem, New York.

Lucky for us, Lori wrote the Divvies Bakery Cookbook

Some of the recipes in the book include: Divvies Famous Chocolate Cupcakes (featured on the Martha Stewart Show!),  Benjamin’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Pick-Your-Berry Muffins, Extra Thick, Treasured-Filled Marshmallow Treats, “Ice Cream” Hash and Movie Night Popcorn.  The book also includes tips on the best birthday parties, perfect picnic baskets, cool cupcake towers, and even bonus gluten-free recipes.

I am the proud owner of a copy of The Divvies Bakery Cookbook. Fortunately, nobody in our family has food allergies, and we have loved everything we have made so far from Lori Sandler’s book, including the Cinnamon Buns! We bought the book because our daughter’s friend has a serious milk allergy. We are happy to bake without eggs and milk and have everything taste so delicious. You can’t even tell that her recipes don’t include butter or milk. This really should be a staple in every kitchen!
