chilis gift card giveaway 294x300 Chilis $50 Gift Card Giveaway for Back to School! We’re giving away a $50 Chili’s Gift Card! Keep reading for more information on how to enter.

Back-to-school season is in full swing. If you aren’t back yet, chances are your kids are off to the first morning bell ringing soon. For our family this means more schedules to coordinate with after-school clubs and organizes, music lessons, sports and homework. Our days become full to the brim, and our evenings packed with activities as I try to manage four kids.

For us, we plan a weekly menu to help us from getting overwhelmed and to get us through the weekly chaos, but there are times when we’re all pulled in so many different directions before dinner that there’s no chance to get everything all jammed into the evening. Plus, my family has a great appreciation for good food and not fast food. For those nights we may just toss something together quick, but the option to eat out comes up.

kieras fajita at chilis 300x199 Chilis $50 Gift Card Giveaway for Back to School!
We were recently given a $50 gift card to Chili’s Grill and Bar to try out their new menu featuring fresh ingredients. For us, this meant guacamole, fajitas and plenty of chips and salsa. All were a hit with the kids, and it was great to be able to eat and leave without worrying about the prep and the cleanup, which can be substantial when you’re a younger family of 6.

We’re giving you a chance to win a $50 Chili’s gift card to treat your family to a night off! The contest runs now through Tuesday, August 31st at 11:59 p.m. and each reader will have two chances to win!

1. To enter, simply tell me below in the comments what nights of the back-to-school season you could really use the night off. Is it when there’s a PTA meeting and sports all on the same night? Do you have three kids with different schedules in different schools with different curriculum meetings and parent-teacher conferences that just drive you batty? Maybe the nights you need a break are the weekends, when you have worked so hard all week managing everyone’s schedule and homework that it’s time to just relax and do something together as a family.

2. Tweet about this contest and come back and let me know you have!

Enter to win a $50 Chili’s Gift Card from @Babblefood: http://bit.ly/cmqhwZ

While you’re in the mood to enter, head on over to Chili’s Shout Out to Eat Out contest and send in a 10- to 30-second video telling them why you don’t why to cook tonight for another chance to win another $50 gift card daily through 8/31!

UPDATE: The winner is Katie R.!! Congratulations, Katie! I’ve emailed you, so be sure send me your information so I can send your gift card out!

We could use a night off when it’s been a long day at work, there’s some sort of sport practice after school, grocery shopping to be done and a pile of laundry waiting at home to be folded. That’s when I want to wave my white flag and swear off cooking!

Monday nights are my favorite dine-out night. Weekends are busy and I usually cook a lot, so it’s nice to start the work/school week off with a treat. (Also, Mondays are usually pretty quiet at the restaurants; I think because lots of people dine out on weekends.)

Actually it’s Friday night. By the time I’ve made it through a week of school and a week of work I’m ready to take the night off from cooking.

McKim commented on Aug 24 10 at 3:32 pm

Honestly, I could use ANY night off from cooking! I have a 10 year old, and 8 month old, and I am 20 weeks pregnant again and on partial bedrest. My husband works 60 hours a week, and when he gets home, he helps with the housework I am not supposed to be doing right now. I LOVE Chili’s, too! Especially their southwestern eggrolls and the classic nachos! Thanks for the chance!

brandy nelson commented on Aug 24 10 at 3:33 pm

I could use the day off on parent teacher conference day.

Rebecca Graham commented on Aug 24 10 at 3:50 pm

I would love to have any night a week off from cooking. My work is gearing up for our busy season which means 60+ hour work weeks, not including the 10-12 hours per week of travel. Fitting it all in is hard, thankfully I have a great bunch that tries to help.

elizabeth p commented on Aug 24 10 at 3:51 pm

Mondays would definitely be my pick. That’s usually when I feel the most overwhelmed, and who wants to cook on a Monday?

Susan commented on Aug 24 10 at 3:53 pm

By Friday I could use a night off after all the driving to and from school, helping with homework every night, etc.

Cindy Colonna commented on Aug 24 10 at 5:13 pm

After scrambling to and from work, getting the kids to school and getting back home to help with homework, then cook supper…etc…..We could really use a Saturday night to unwind and have some time just for each other, this would be a nice way to get out and have some together time for sure.

Chad commented on Aug 24 10 at 5:27 pm

I could use it when we have late night programs at the school, can’t start dinner those nights till 9

Diane Baum commented on Aug 24 10 at 5:49 pm

For us it’s the grandkids and we’d approach this a little differently. We’d want this as a reward, not as a survival tactic. We’d like to reward our overachieving grandchildren with a nice meal at Chilis so it would be some night after one of their events.

ky2here commented on Aug 24 10 at 6:44 pm

I teach, so we always seem to have our back to school night in the same week as my kids have theirs. I haven’t checked the calendar (I’m scared to), but its really horrible when I have to be at my school and I miss my kids back to school nights. Usually they don’t fall on the same night, but it’s a week where at 3 nights in the week that I’m working all day and out until 8pm….by Friday, I need the NIGHT OFF!

Debra F commented on Aug 25 10 at 1:28 pm

I will get up with them, make sure the pokey one finishes his breakfast on time and hope they don’t miss the bus. Then it’s my part time job for the afternoon. My husband works 2nd shift so I’m home at night with the children. I’m tired!

Shannon commented on Aug 29 10 at 4:26 pm

I could have used this when I was working full time and it seemed like I was just busting my butt to get to anything that the school and my kids had going on. I hated being a single Mom and trying to work 60 hours a week and get to parent teacher conferences, Girl and Boy Scout meetings, soccer practices and such.
Now that I am a SAHM it seems I still don’t get much of a break. I feel like we put too much on ourselves and I limited my kids to one activity at a time! I would love to have this now for Football nights when my son has a game, even if it was only night it would be a dream.

Terre Neesham commented on Aug 29 10 at 5:08 pm

You hit the nail right on the head, sister! We have a conference for the 4th grader tomorrow @ 4:15, then football practice. Plus, since this is a 2nd marriage w/5 children between us that sre in 3 different schools… 2 traditional and 1 year round… it is chaos! So, give me ANY night off… I’m not picky!

Can I get every night of the week off?? No, really, Monday nights are busy with girl scouts, gymnastics, meetings, and homework, of course! I have to say that I like Friday nights the best!!

Thanks for the chance!

I like eating out on Friday night, after a long week and just want to relax…preferrably date night with my hubby. Thanks for the giveaway.

Lee Broom commented on Aug 29 10 at 7:08 pm

My husband and I are both disabled/retired and any day of the week would be fine. We have a Cilili’s only a mile away. Would be nice to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary there.

paulie strouth commented on Aug 29 10 at 7:23 pm

Sundays are my day to kick back & try to recharge so that would be great to go out & eat then.

Sharon A commented on Aug 29 10 at 9:04 pm

On Friday’s. After working full time and managing a different schedule for both of my daughters and getting everything done on time, we can really use some time together to just relax as a family.

Monday nights. It’s hard getting back after the weekend. One child needs to be dropped off at school @ 7:50 and picked up @ 2:35. The other one needs to be dropped off @ 8:50 and picked up @ 3:35. Plus we have a new addition to the family.

Kristi C commented on Aug 30 10 at 6:30 am

I work nights 7pm to 7am so any night that I have to work after running the kids to practice and picking them up from school would be a great night if I didn’t have to cook something before I went to work.

We homeschool but it can still get hectic with 4 kids. On Thursday nights, my husband and I, run a Bible club for kids. We have to leave the house by 6:15. The phone is usually ringing off the hook, kids are knocking on our door wanting a ride, and all the while, I’m trying to feed everyone.
