Kim Clijsters made history at the U.S. Open on Sunday night becoming the first unseeded woman to win the Open and the first mother to win a major since 1980. And all this coming out of a two-year retirement after giving birth to daughter Jada in 2008. Makes me feel positively lazy.
Kim Clijsters had a historic win yesterday when she beat Serena Williams and became only the second mother to reach a Grand Slam final. Clijsters, who gave birth to daughter Jada in February 2008, was playing in only her third tournament after 2-1/2 years in retirement. But the match won’t be remembered for Clijsters’ victory. See the video after the jump.
