What Celebrities Went to the U.S. Open
The hot ticket over the past couple of days for celebrity moms and dads? The U.S. Open!
Held at the Ashe Stadium in New York, this was the scene of oohs, awes and oodles of star sightings. The hottest seats to get? The Novak Djokovic-Rafael Nadal final, but throughout the whole U.S. Open, celebrities were seen cheering on their favorites.
Check out these 24 moms and dads who (mostly) left the kids at home to watch the games live and in person from mom to be Beyonce, to Michelle Obama to Owen Wilson.
Newlyweds Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinksy clearly have no problem with PDA. The couple–perhaps a little bored by the events, or simply so into each other–was spotted doing some public kissing while watching the US Open this past weekend.
Clinton and Mezvinsky, who wed in a hugely talked about ceremony in Rhinebeck, NY took a break from watching Venus Williams play tennis–and gave fellow spectators a special little show. Continue reading »

Kim Clijsters made history at the U.S. Open on Sunday night becoming the first unseeded woman to win the Open and the first mother to win a major since 1980. And all this coming out of a two-year retirement after giving birth to daughter Jada in 2008. Makes me feel positively lazy.
Kim Clijsters had a historic win yesterday when she beat Serena Williams and became only the second mother to reach a Grand Slam final. Clijsters, who gave birth to daughter Jada in February 2008, was playing in only her third tournament after 2-1/2 years in retirement. But the match won’t be remembered for Clijsters’ victory. Roger Federer’s adventures in parenting haven’t seemed to get in the way of his tennis game. Last weekend, he showed to the Cincinnati Master and took back the rank of #1 in the world with his first win as a daddy.
