Gwyneth Paltrow brought her new movie Country Strong to Los Angeles Tuesday for an industry preview. Paltrow, along with costars Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester gave Hollywood insiders a sneak peek of the movie at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills.
Country Strong was produced by Tobey Maguire who came west for the preview, along with Tim McGraw’s wife, country superstar Faith Hill. If you thought Gwyneth could sing after watching Glee, wait until you see her in this flick! The actress is generating a lot of buzz for her musical performance.
Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester plays the role of a young country star with huge ambition while Garrett Hedlund portrays a hunky country singer in the film. We’ll hear a lot about Hedlund this week because Tron: Legacy comes out in a few days!
Country Strong opens in limited release on Dec. 22 with national release on January 7. Here are some pictures from the LA event, enjoy!

Gwyneth Paltrow stars in the upcoming Country Strong, a drama centered on a rising country-music songwriter (Garrett Hedlund) who connects with a fallen star played by Paltrow. Together, they mount his ascent and her comeback, which leads to romantic complications involving her husband/manager (Tim McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Leighton Meester). Many celebrities are speaking out about the incident involving Kanye West and Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs, including country singer Tim McGraw. He did say though, that the rapper’s behavior has taught his daughters how not to act.
I absolutely love that Faith Hill doesn’t dress up to walk around Hollywood with her family. She said she was going to spend all her creative energy on her family and it looks like she is doing just that.
