Sarah Jessica Parker Fantasizes About Going on a Family Adventure
Sarah Jessica Parker is a New York City girl without a doubt.
But the actress and Sex and the City star is itching for a move!
Parker says she’s often tempted to pack up her family – husband Matthew Broderick and their son James and twin daughters Loretta and Tabitha – and hit the road!
“I often have a fantasy about packing up the family and travelling,” she tells Stylist magazine.
“If it was an adventure, sure, I’d leave all this behind. But I’d never do it without them.”
Sarah Jessica Parker Opens Up About Raising Kids In the Spotlight
Sarah Jessica Parker, better known as Carrie Bradshaw of the Sex and the City series, is featured in the September issue of Marie Claire magazine where she opens up about being a celebrity and a mom to twins Loretta and Tabitha and James Wilkie.
Living in New York, Parker likes going about her day as normally as possible and not pulling the fame card.
She explains, “I never wanted to be a celebrity; I never wanted to be famous. And in my daily life, I work really hard not to trade on it in any way. I am so desperately worried about anybody saying, ‘She cut in line’, or ‘She took our table’, or ‘She got out of jury duty’, or ‘She doesn’t do her own grocery shopping’. The things that bother me are counter to who I am and the way I live. It’s not like it’s hard to be decent and respectful and well-behaved. I do wait in line, and I do take the subway, and I do do my own grocery shopping, and I do take the kids to school.”
Behind all the fame, Parker still thrives on her acting career. “I love, love, love being an actor. It’s still the hardest and scariest thing I do, outside of parenting. But I’ve always been someone who likes a busy day. I love the opportunities, and if I can manage my time and the children are okay and we’re okay, it’s hard to say no…”
Sarah Jessica Parker: From Carrie Bradshaw to Casual Mom! (Photos)
It must be pretty tough to be Sarah Jessica Parker sometimes, because she created such an iconic character in her role as Carrie Bradshaw, everyone’s favorite writer on Sex and the City. Carrie was envied by women everywhere for her charm, her wit, and of course, her legendary sense of style. She may have been a fictional character, but I think it’s safe to say that Sex and the City fans really felt as if they knew Carrie Bradshaw. Or at least I did!
Sarah Jessica Parker will probably never shake the whole “Carrie Bradshaw” association, but she’s definitely given up Carrie’s signature daring style since the show ended!
SJP’s style has done a complete and total transformation, and she’s gone from style icon to looking like a regular mom! Keeping up with three kids is no easy feat, and Sarah definitely goes for comfort over fashion trends these days. Even when she gets all gussied up for an event, her look is still much older and different than it was during her Carrie Bradshaw days.
Sarah Jessica Parker Compares Her Motherly Style With Lady Gaga
Ever since Sarah Jessica Parker donned the character of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, she has been known as a fashion icon – whether she likes it or not. And with that status, she has the right to critique others’ fashion sense including Lady Gaga.
Parker recently shared with MTV News that she thinks Lady Gaga’s bold fashion statements put her “in a league of her own. I admire her aesthetic choices.”
“I think we have very different silhouettes that we choose. I don’t mean that in a judgmental way. I mean that she is an extraordinary and singular and unique person,” she added. “And I have more of a pedestrian feel.”
Sarah Jessica Parker Flaunts Her Mommy Style At Cannes
Sarah Jessica Parker is the definition of fashion thanks to her six-year stint at Carrie Bradshaw on HBO’s Sex and the City. And while she has a lot to live up to at all red-carpet events, she never disappoints.
Parker, who is a mother of three, and wife to husband Matthew Broderick, flaunted two hot styles at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
She started with a hot white dress by Dolce&Gabbana at the I Don’t Know How She Does It party on Friday (May 13) at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes, France.
Later that night, she capped it off with a stunning floral printed crepe georgette gown by Elie Saab for the Wu Xia premiere.
She finished off her look with Fred Leighton jewelry, Rene Caovilla heels, and a Chloe bag.
Sarah Jessica Parker & Family Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend
Sarah Jessica Parker certainly made sure she had an awesome Mother’s Day weekend. The Sex and the City actress along with her husband Matthew Broderick, son James Wilkie, 8 1/2, and twin daughters Loretta and Tabitha, 2 next month, spent Saturday (May 7) in Washington Square Park.
Parker says that nothing beats time with her family.
“I love just being with my family — going to the grocery store, cooking dinner, putting my twins to bed, changing their diapers, getting my older son ready for school and packing his lunch. Staying home with my family and my husband is the thing I love most in the world. Is it sexy? I don’t know about that, but it sure is fun and it’s definitely unpredictable.”
Sarah Jessica Parker Agrees To Make ‘Sex and the City 3′
After six successful TV seasons and two blockbuster hits, Sarah Jessica Parker is ready for another go-round with Sex and the City 3!
“I would go back,” the 45-year-old actress told the L.A. Times from the set of her new movie, I Don’t Know How She Does It. “I think there’s one more story to tell. I know there is.”
But don’t get excited yet. Even though Parker is on board, she hopes that the third and possibly final installment won’t come around for a while.
“I’d definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael [Patrick King] would do it right,” she says. “But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know?”
