When Roger Federer lost to Robin Soldering in today’s French Open quaterfinal, fans (especially fans with a thing for hot and hunky Swiss players) wailed in despair. Once invincible, Federer was felled in a major upset. And with it, Federer’s streak of making it to 23 straight semifinals ended.
And yet, perhaps this shouldn’t come as a shock. Less than a year ago, tennis experts and Federer himself were speculating about how the birth of his twins Charlene and Myra (with wife Mirka) might affect his tennis.
Roger Federer may have lost in the first round of the Rome Masters this week, but that doesn’t mean the top-ranked tennis player in the world is hanging his head.
In fact, he was spotted still in Rome, strolling around with his wife, Mirka, and their twins Myla and Charlene. In fact, you can get a good look at one of the girls on the next page–and she’s a cutie.
As a total aside, I always wondered what tennis players wear on their downtime. I mean, tennis shirts are pretty comfortable and all, but since they wear them all the time to play, aren’t they sick of them. Not Roger, I guess. Dressed in his tennis whites, socks and sneakers, it’s hard to distinguish his off-court attire from what he wears for matches. Hand this man a racket and he’d be ready for Center Court.

For Roger Federer, winning the Australian Open on Sunday was sweet, but nothing could compare to what was waiting for him at his hotel.
Roger Federer and wife Mirka debuted their three-week-old twin girls, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, on Federer’s Facebook fan page on Friday. It was followed by a quiz where Federer revealed which Disney princess he was and his latest activity on Mafia wars.
