Ricky Gervais Golden Globes 2011 (Video): Funny or Rude?
Ricky Gervais rocked the Golden Globes 2011 but did everyone think so? Watch the video below.
He kicked off Sunday’s Golden Globes by making a few Charlie Sheen jokes, then went on to poke fun at The Tourist and Hugh Hefner.
“Everything this year was three-dimensional, except the characters in the Tourist,” Gervais says. “I feel bad about that joke. I’m jumping on the bandwagon, because I haven’t even seen that movie. Who has?”
Gervais joked about Scarlett Johannsen who presented the first award of the evening. About her, Gervais said: “Beautiful, talented, and Jewish, apparently. Mel Gibson told me that. He’s obsessed.”
Robert Pattinson Golden Globe Appearance Low-Key, Short
Robert Pattinson presented an award tonight at the 68th Golden Globes. He looked fabulous and his appearance was pretty low key compared to the People’s Choice awards ceremony. If you blinked, you missed Rob on stage.
In the words of Golden Globe host Ricky Gervais, “no one in America cares about the Best Foreign Film Award” which was the award Pattinson was presenting.
The Golden Globes are an important award in Hollywood. The Golden Globe Awards bring out the biggest stars in film, television and entertainment. Kristen Stewart is Robert Pattinson’s on screen and off screen love but she didn’t come to the Golden Globes—and can you BLAME her? Continue reading »
Is Golden Globes Host Ricky Gervais Too Edgy For Hollywood?
Hollywood types don’t really like to laugh at themselves; that’s why Chris Rock and David Letterman bombed as the Oscars hosts years ago. And it seems to be why Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais is getting a rather tepid response tonight from the live audience! I guess people who make more for three months of work than my husband and I will ever make in a lifetime, even if we sell our vital organs, don’t find it funny when their movies bomb.

I’ll be live blogging the Golden Globes tonight, so let’s watch together! Leave a comment! I’ll be making snarky and totally random comments as we go!
8:08pm Christian Bale wins for Best Supporting Actor! Christian won for his role in The Fighter, he made a very sweet speech.
8:16pm Katey Sagal wins for Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama. She rocks.
8:22 pm Chris Colfer wins for his role in GLEE! He gives an amazing acceptance speech, focusing on the “kids who we celebrate on the show, who are bullied and get told they can’t be who they want to be. Well, screw that kids!” YOU GO CHRIS!
8:32pm Ricky Gervais is SOO funny but not sure if the audience “gets” him. His humor is dry, witty and not exactly PC. I love the man!
8:34pm – Steve Buscemi wins for Boardwalk Empire! Buscemi won for Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series – Drama! Woot!
8:38pm Winner for Best Television Series – Drama goes to Broadwalk Empire! Way to go HBO!
BTW, last two awards, were for songs. Not into it. Sorry.
8:58pm – Ricky Gervais asks if Robert Downey Jr. was in porn films. RDJ looks kinda tan. Or is it my TV?
RDJ gives out award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical and it’s Annette Bening for her role in The Kids Are All Right! ALL RIGHT! Bening was up against co-star Julianne Moore in The Kids Are All Right!
9:16pm Okay haven’t blogged the last few awards….not into some of the mini-series awards. Back in a few.
9:23pm Zac Efron is so hot. Yes, I could be his mother. If I had him when I was a teen. But still.
9:25pm Tina Fey and Steve Carrel introduce the Best Screenplay – Motion Picture! Aaron Sorkin for The Social Network. It would have been a crime if he wouldn’t have won—-his screenplay was awesome. Aaron Sorkin sent a message to his daughter in his speech, “Smart girls have more fun honey, look around”!

Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Lopez, Matt Damon Golden Globe Presenters
Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon will present at the Golden Globes on January 16. All I heard was Robert Pattinson, Robert Pattinson, Robert Pattinson….
In case you don’t know, I’m a card carrying Robert Pattinson and Twilight fan. I was psyched to hear that RPatz would be presenting at the Golden Globes, so were my fellow “TwiHards” and Twilight Moms. Continue reading »
