Kimora Lee Simmons is a working mom of three, but according to her, ”I’m not a superhero.” Find out how Simmons tackles her life and what a blended family means to her.
A lot of moms often find it hard to balance work and motherhood, but Simmons has just the solution for living life in the fast lane. ”It’s about prioritizing. Just take it one step at a time. Do the best that you can. I’m a mom and I have two husbands – an ex husband [Russell Simmons] and a next husband [Djimon Hounsou]. It’s a blended family and it’s very hard to keep things together, but we’re happy and we live in love.”
Simmons, fortunately, didn’t find it hard having her daughter adjust to baby number three. ”They’re super protective, they’re big girls. They help me a lot with Kenzo. They’re like little moms. I worried about the age difference at first, but now I feel like it’s working to my benefit.”
Sarah Jessica Parker talks to Parade Magazine about marriage and kids.
She may be one of the most highly recognized celebrities in America, but celeb mom Sarah Jessica Parker has always seemed like a pretty normal, down to earth woman to me. She lives a quiet life in New York City with husband, Matthew Broderick, and their three kids, and tends to stay out of the spotlight.
Sarah is featured in this Sunday’s issue of Parade Magazine talking about being married to Matthew for 20 years, and about raising her kids in New York without the help of nannies.
On the subject of marriage, Parker said that Broderick has helped her appreciate “baseball, parmesan cheese, and color.” Apparently Matthew’s mom was a painter, and his love for using color inspired Sarah. She also added that Matthew has made her more cynical, which she insists is a good thing.
I have always been a fan of Matt Damon, but his recent interview with Parade magazine has made me like him even more. The actor, who can be seen soon in Clint Eastwood’s latest movie ‘Hereafter’ as a psychic who can speak to dead people reveals that his wife and daughters are his number 1 priority.
When asked about how he raises his daughters (Damon currently has 3 daughters and is expecting a 4th with wife Lucia) Damon replied;
“I think what’s important for kids to know is that your decisions here on earth matter, your behaviour matters, and how you treat other people matters. It matters here and I’m hoping that it matters in the afterlife, too. It just comes down to accountability for your own behaviour that’s important. So whenever I talk to my own kids or whenever they ask, I try and put the hereafter in kind of an ethical framework. If I had a bucket list, I’d say raising my four girls to be strong, good women would be number one.” Continue reading »
