Catherine Zeta-Jones spent five days in mental health facility
Catherine Zeta-Jones spent about five days in a mental health facility for treatment of bipolar disorder.
“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder,” a rep said in a statement.
“She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”
How have Douglas and her kids been handling it? I’m sure it has been a very difficult time for the entire family.
Zeta-Jones has been by husband Michael Douglas’s side during his cancer fight this past year.
“There’s no question it’s been a stressful year,” the friend says.

Golden Globe Winner Christian Bale
At the Golden Globe Awards, Christian Bale was named the Best Supporting Actor in a Movie for his role in “The Fighter.”
He beat out Andrew Garfield from “The Social Network,” Michael Douglas in “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” Jeremy Remmer in “The Town,” and Geoffrey Rush from “The King’s Speech.”

Happy news for Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones
Michael Douglas appeared on the Today Show this morning to announce that he most likely has cancer beat. Considering he had been diagnosed with stage four throat cancer, this is quite a feat.
Wife Catherine Zeta-Jones cried tears of joy at the news that her husband’s cancer is most likely completely gone. The couple has been through a lot over the past six months since his diagnosis, with his treatments. Now, his tumor is gone and they can focus on doing anything in their power to keep it from returning.
Michael Douglas announces he is in remission
Michael Douglas appeared on The Today Show and told Matt Lauer that he is in remission. That his tumor is most likely gone and he most likely has his stage 4 throat cancer beat.
He says that his cancer showed him love like he didn’t know before: for his family and even his fans. It made him see life differently.
Michael Douglas said that there was almost a macabre fascination with his condition that he felt from the paparazzi. But, now they have something different to watch for: his recovery!

Michael Douglas has beat cancer
Michael Douglas has wonderful news to reveal tomorrow on Today.
On Tuesday, the Wall Street actor will reveal the amazing news that the tumor is his throat has gone.
“The odds are, with the tumor gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I’ve got it beat,” Douglas said during an interview with Today show anchor Matt Lauer, that will air Tuesday.
This will be Douglas’s first television interview since undergoing treatment for advanced throat cancer.
Douglas, 66, was diagnosed with stage-four throat cancer in August 2010 and completed his chemotherapy in October.
“It’s put a timeline on my life,” Douglas said in the new interview.
Aretha Franklin surgery was a success
No one knows why Aretha Franklin had surgery yesterday morning. All that is being said is that the surgery was successful. She was able to release a statement about it, thanking the doctors and telling everyone that God was in control.
The 68 year-old star has cancelled all her performances through May, so it must be something serious.
In all honesty, when I hear “celeb surgery,” I automatically jump to wondering what part of their bodies they are having enhanced, tucked, nipped, or otherwise dramatically altered. And I roll my eyes.
But, celebs are people, too. Not immune from serious illnesses.
