AmfAR has announced it will honor the late Natasha Richardson on February 10 at its annual gala to kick off New York City’s Fashion Week. Richardson, pictured with mother Vanessa Redgrave and sister Joely Richardson, was an AmfAR spokesperson and board member. Richardson passed away last year in a tragic skiing accident, leaving behind two children with husband Liam Neeson.
The cause is near to the family’s heart. Richardson’s father, the Oscar-winning British film director Tony Richardson, died of AIDS-related causes in 1991.
Friday Night Lights, the critically acclaimed but ratings challenged drama centering on a high school football town, will be back on network tv with a premiere date of April 30 on NBC. The program was hailed as a realistic portrayal of family life, with episodes that discussed difficult situations such as a mother struggling to leave her baby in daycare but longing to return to the job she loves. Thank goodness for good tv being valued over another mind-numbing reality tv show featuring bimbos and losers (although I kind of like those too…).
Dennis Hopper, 73, who is reportedly in the final stages of prostate cancer, has filed for divorce from his wife of 14 years, Victoria Duffy. They have a daughter Galen, 6 (left with Duffy and Hopper in 2008). Citing irreconcilable differences, Hopper has asked for joint physical and legal custody of Galen. He has three other children from previous marriages. Hopper has been married five times, including a union with the Mamas & Papas singer Michelle Phillips that lasted for eight days.

Britney Spears was photographed with son Jayden James, 3-1/2, arriving at a Los Angeles hotel. Let’s not be too judgmental that he’s too old to have a paci out in public. Britney Spears is his mother; that probably requires a lot of pacifying. Ex-Bachelor producer Ryan Callahan might not be in a toasting mood anymore… after being fired, plus his wife divorcing him and all. So who is this reported “ladies man” who made Rozlyn Papa, mother of a 7-year-old son, lose her spot in competing to be Jake Pavelka’s fiancee for two weeks future wife? We have the photos. And I’m thinking “ladies man” might be a bit of a stretch. In one photo he looks like a spawn of Will Ferrell and Chris Farley. Maybe he’s really funny?
