It’s hard to believe, but it has been almost a year since Hollywood star Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. And his wife of 34 years, Lisa Niemi, still has a hard time with it. She even found herself sending him a routine text as she boarded a plane in July.
She told People Magazine that ‘I just put what I always did: ‘I Love You’ and then I cried a little bit to myself.’
She went on to say that ‘It (text message) didn’t come back. So either somewhere out there he received it, or someone’s going ‘somebody loves me!’ And you know what? I figured it was a win win situation!’ Continue reading »
Patrick Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi, is speaking out about their marriage, and one of her biggest regrets: not having kids.
“Having children was one of my goals. I don’t know why it didn’t work out. We should probably have had it investigated by fertility doctors but we didn’t,” she said, according to Showbiz Spy.
His wife of 34 years, seen here with the late actor in a 2008 photo, hasn’t ruled out adopting a child on her own.
Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi met in 1970 and married in June of 1975 and although they had no children, they did try to conceive. Shortly before he died, Patrick told Lisa to fulfill their “baby dream,” and carry on his name.
Patrick Swayze died today after a long, brave battle with cancer. He was 57. The actor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008 and since then had endured endless tabloid speculation about his condition.
Swayze’s publicist Annett Wolf says the actor died at home with his family by his side. He had been married to his wife Lisa Niemi for 34 years.
