Annette Bening wins Golden Globe Award for "The Kids Are Alright"
On tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical went to Annette Bening for her role in “The Kids Are Alright.”
She gave a very gracious acceptance speech and called her co-star Julianne Moore “a class act.” Annette Bening’s speech was a good balance to Robert Downey Jr.’s rather classless presentation of the nominees and the awards. I guess he was just trying to be funny when he said that actresses couldn’t do their best work until they have slept with him. Um, ew.
But, getting back to the awards:
Julianne Moore is spotted all over downtown NYC, all of the time. I saw her not long ago myself, at the Standard Grill for brunch. I also see her at the gym. And hailing cabs. And yet, her kids, Caleb and Liv, are almost never spotted. And rarely photographed. So what a bonus to see them today! Here they are with Moore’s husband, their dad, Bart Freundlich. Scroll down for more photos (in close-up). They both look EXACTLY like their mom.
You would think that Julianne Moore has a maid to clean her kids rooms. Not so! She actually tells them to make their beds.
“My son made his bed this morning and I couldn’t believe it,” she tells Times Online. “Every day I’m like, ‘Make-your-bed, make-your-bed.”
I have one question about the fashions at this year’s Golden Globes…what was up with all the black? Was it the somber mood of the state of the world (and Haiti), was it everyone getting in touch with their inner goth or is just because it’s slimming?

The stars love a party. And a great reason to celebrate is a birthday of dear friend.
Julianne Moore, the Gossip Girls’ Kelly Rutherford, and Real Housewife Kelly Bensimon all came out to share this special day with their pal Mario…Mario of the Super Mario Brothers fame. Here are pics of the celebs and some of their kids at the soiree at the Nintendo World Store, NYC.
