No babies for Jon Hamm

While Jon Hamm has recently admitted that he’s not thinking about having children in the near future, it got as thinking: why?

Men as beautiful and charming and witty as Jon not wanting to have children is doing a disservice to us all.  Not only is he missing out on the opportunity to pass down his good looks in the gene pool to his kids, but we also don’t get a chance to post these men in with their babies at play dates with other hunky daddys on this blog!

While it’s already common knowledge that George Clooney isn’t interested in diaper duty, late nights up (not that kind) and spit up on his favorite Ferragamo suit, there are other Hollywood hotties that are thinking the same such as Keanu Reeves, Leonardo di Caprio and others.

Entertainment Weekly chose Taylor Swift for the annual Entertainer of the Year honor. The teen pop queen is in good company, as the magazine included James Franco, Katy Perry and Jon Hamm in the Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainers of the Year list.

Taylor Swift is the youngest-ever Entertainer of the Year. Entertainment Weekly launched the annual list in 1990—when the 20-year-old songbird was only 2! Swift also graces the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, which hits stands on Friday, December 3.

The magazine named Taylor Swift as Entertainer of the Year because of her many accomplishments in 2010.   The talented young singer had a pretty big 2010, with multiple hit singles and Grammy wins, a successful tour and the #1 debut of her latest album, Speak Now.  Taylor’s latest CD sold over than 1 million copies in its first week!

The latest Entertainment Weekly has an interview with Taylor Swift and features 14 other entertainers of the year in the celebrity packed issue.  I know I’ll be glued to this EW, how about you?

Jon Hamm, who plays the sexy Don Draper on TV’s hit show Mad Men, sat down with Parade Magazine to dish on all things, including love, family, and babies.

Jon is heavily influenced by his parents. His late father, Dan, the owner of a trucking company, inspired his character. “[His] smoking, drinking, and hard-living ways are pretty much my model for Don Draper.”

Sadly, his parents died when he was young, but he managed to take something positive from his loss. “Losing both parents at a young age gave me a sense that you can’t really control life–so you’d better live it while it’s here. I stopped believing in a storybook existence a long time ago. All you can do is push in a direction and see what comes of it.”

And what about his relationship with Jennifer Jennifer Westfeldt, whom he has been dating since meeting in 1997 at a party and helping her rehearse lines for an audition. Will they be getting married anytime soon, if at all?

Papa’s got a brand new beard! Now I know Jon Hamm isn’t a dad (yet) but he’s following the trend of celebrity dads Brad Pitt, David Beckham, Sting and Antonio Banderas and thrown away his razor. According to style watchers, the full beard is the ‘in’ accessory this season — but will there be as many calls for Hamm to “Shave it off!” as there were for Pitt’s long, braided facial hair? Since becoming dad Ben Affleck has really loosened up. He doesn’t seem like so much of a douche.

He says that even though he is really broadening his portfolio, he’s been spending more time at home.  He and Jennifer take turns working. She did a couple of movies and now it’s his turn to bring home the bacon.
