Jennifer Aniston’s role in her new movie, The Switch, definitely has her thinking about the possibility of being a single mom. In the film, Jen’s character plays a woman who decides that she wants to have a child, and opts for using a sperm donor to do the deed.
Jen is fully supportive of the method of conception that her on-screen persona took, and at a recent press conference she said that, “Women are realizing it more and more knowing that they don’t have to settle with a man just to have that child… Times have changed and that is also what is amazing is that we do have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents’ days when you can’t have children because you have waited too long.”
I couldn’t agree with her more. Personally, I think that it is better to a woman to conceive a baby through artificial insemination than to settle down with a man just for the sake of getting pregnant. Of course, raising a child is easier when you have an extra set of hands around the house, but for today’s confident and capable women, there’s no reason why they can’t manage on their own just as well.
