Millions of women go through divorces without partying and doing drugs with their daughters.
There seems to be two kinds of celeb moms making news these days.
There is the rash of celebrity mamas saddled up on their high horses and running roughshod over the plebian moms across the nation such as myself, and then there are the other mamas, clubbing with kids and acting younger than their children..
The former group of prententious parents are constantly spouting off about their superior skills and their precocious progeny with transparent humble brags designed to make the rest of us feel like Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest, while the latter group are taking parenthood to extremes that send eyebrows skyward.
Now look, I’m not trying to be a celeb hating douchebag, because I’m really not! I am a bit of an idiot savant about all things celebrity. Go ahead, quiz me! Give me quotes and ask which celeb said it. Ask me who dated who ten years ago and I’m all over it! I retain celebrity gossip like Warren Buffet retains Benjamin Franklins. I’m a sucker for this stuff.
But, now that I’m a mama, the celeb moms who are either constantly yammering about how much weight they lost two weeks after giving birth, how brilliant their children are or how UH-mazing parenting is drive me nuts! I actually prefer the moms behaving badly (like Courtney Love) to the supercilious likes of Gisele and Gwyneth.
Come on gals! Get over yourselves and, in the process, cut the rest of us some slack. You’re beautiful and make millions, can’t you stop the LIFE-IS-SO-AMAZING show for two seconds and be real? I think my Strollerderby colleague Carolyn Castiglia said it best in her article, Go Away Gwyneth. You’re Ruining Everything For Everybody. I second that emotion for Gisele.
So yeah, here, in no particular order are the top 10 annoying, condescending and badly behaved celeb mamas in the news. Disagree? Agree? Why or why not? Who is your least favorite celeb mom making headlines?

What Did Gwyneth Buy Beyonce's Baby?
Beyonce and Gwyneth Paltrow are totally BFFs. So what does one superstar millionaire buy a fellow superstar millionaire when one of them has a baby?
It was recently revealed what Gwyneth Paltow gave Beyonce in celebration of the birth of baby Blue Ivy. What did Gwyneth buy the baby who will be destined to have everything?
As in "2 retro for words"?
Eek! Just when you thought the June Cleaver era was long gone, Gwyneth Paltrow is bringing it back again.
The Oscar-winning actress makes no apologies for the fact that she’s become a traditional wife and mom who’s putting husband Chris Martin’s career first, feminism be damned.
“Gloria Steinem may string me up by my toes,” she tells an interviewer in the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar, “but all I can do is my best, and I can do only what works for me and my family.”
And for Gwyneth, what works is putting her acting projects on hold so that Chris can go on tour with Coldplay while she raises daughter Apple, 7, and son Moses, 5.
“I have little kids in school,” she explains. “I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he comes home.”
Although she keeps busy with other projects – notably her healthy-food cookbooks and her wellness website, Goop – Gwyneth prides herself in being the one to cook dinner for her children and give them their baths. (She actually gets into the tub with them, which is a subject for another blog.)
What’s more, she believes other women should be prepared to de-prioritize their own careers once they get married, too.
Gwyneth: Gorgeous Or Goopy?
Our favorite celebrity mom blogger, Gwyneth Paltrow graces the cover of the March issue Harper’s Bazaar looking like she just got done raiding old pal Madonna’s closet.
I mean, seriously.
Gwyneth dons some interesting black cut-out and lace numbers and some very Beyonce-like skate heels (why are they forcing that style on us?), but we’re not sure if we’re liking it. This could just be my own opinion, but Gwyneth shines better when she’s mixing and experimenting with bright bolds and more adventurous, less-goth like styles.

Gwyneth Paltrow opens up about her past depression
Ever since Gwyneth Paltrow started her Goop blog and opened up a Twitter account, she’s been a different person, hasn’t she? How often do you see A-listers talking so openly about $475 colon cleanses, their favorite pea soup and the best place to get a bikini wax in Paris?
Little by little, Gwyneth is beginning to grow on us. Sure, she might sound pretentious at times but at least she’s not lying about who she is, right?

Blogger Gwyneth Paltrow started off the New Year with her first blog entry for GOOP and guess what? She wants us to get rid of all the – ahem – poop in our lives.
The Oscar-Winning actress writes: “Next week, when it’s back to the grind with work and the daily school run, I’m starting off with Clean, my go-to cleanse from Dr. Alejandro Junger, with whom goop has partnered for the month of January.” Continue reading »
Courtney Love and Gwyneth Paltrow share a moment
Either we are seeing the old (the good old, that is) Courtney Love or life coach Gwyneth Paltrow in action. Whatever the case, these two celebrity moms look like they are Hollywood’s newest best friends forever.
The two women rang in the New Year in Abu Dhabi. Courtney shared a photo of the two blonds on her Twitter page and with the caption, “Getting the best [advice] for the New Years from a true friend, love you @GwynethPaltrow @Goop xoxo.”
Gwyneth also tweeted from the party, “Happy New Year everyone from Abu Dhabi! Hoping 2012 is your best year every.”
We sure do wonder what kind of advice Gwyneth gave Courtney. While it’s so much fun to hate on and make fun of Gwyneth, there’s something about her that does make her likeable, right? It’s like how she knows she’s the schools biggest nerd and she embraces it anyway.
