Kate Gosselin has her own blog on TLC’s website where she shares her thoughts and feelings on all things relating to her famous kids. She has blogged about their vacations and how she feels about them all going back to school. But her latest blog seems like she’s trying to make a point.
Lately many people have commented on blogs and twitter about how the kids seem to always look happy when they’re with their Dad Jon, and upset and crying when they’re with Kate. Now, I for one am not on Team Jon, and think that Kate takes more flack than she deserves (but I do agree that some of it is deserved). After all, it can’t be easy to manage 8 kids – especially when you’re a single parent. I have 4 kids and a husband and it certainly isn’t easy. But from Kate’s latest blog it seems like she needs you to know that the kids are happy at home with her.
Jon and Kate Gosselin are splitting parenting duties.
Kate dropped the kids off at the school bus and Jon picked them up yesterday.
It’s the first year that all eight children are in school full-time.
The twins Mady and Cara, and sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Collin, Alexis, Hannah and Leah, ride the bus to school. While Kate and her bodyguard Steve Neild saw them off, it was Jon who greeted the kids at the bus stop after school.
Earlier this week, more photos were released of the quite dramatic exchange. With Kate’s van parked in the garage, she loaded all eight kids into the vehicle, drove it to the bottom of the driveway and got out of the van.
It appears that ex-reality star and dad of eight Jon Gosselin has been putting on the pounds! He apparently isn’t on the same kind of fitness regime that his super fit ex-wife Kate Gosselin is dedicated to. But it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing any jogging shots of Jon anytime soon. Jon Gosselin has taken to his twitter account to proclaim that the reason you don’t see much of him with his kids is because he tries to keep their time together private. But yet here he is photographed leaving a local arcade called The Works at Wyomissing with six of his eight kids, not looking at all upset that he is being photographed. He has also tweeted that “The reason I can’t answer when asked if I have the kids is because paparazzi can see and I don’t want them looking for me and my kids.” Wow Jon Gosselin, if you’re so worried about people showing up to photograph your kids, you might want to stop talking about them on twitter and asking for suggestions on where to go with them. It seems like Jon Gosselin has been ‘working’ hard these days to try to change his image, and he’s using social media to do it. In the past year the Gosselin’s – both Jon and Kate, have been labelled as less than ideal parents for their large brood, but Jon wins the ‘worst dad of the year award’ through his constant string of ‘questionable’ personal choices. From his endless girlfriends, his lack of employment and his poor lifestyle choices, Jon was the poster child for ‘bad dad.’ Now it seems that he’s trying to become a changed man, and he’s using his Twitter account to let us all know!
There has been lots of speculation that Kate Gosselin is totally ready to dive into the dating scene. One big problem is how she’ll be able to meet a man. She’s incredibly busy with being a mom to eight, working her various and sundry gigs, her promotional work, her tanning sessions, jogging and manicures. So how would she find a mate? There is of course the idea of a dating show, or setting her up with one of these bachelors or she could find someone in her own circles.
“Kate is constantly flirting with all the hot male reporters she meets,” a producer told Rob Shuter. “She has a sparkle in her eye and gets all giddy when she’s bossing reporters around. At first, we thought she was happy because she was talking about herself. Then we realized she was looking for a date.”
But isn’t that kind of like dating someone you work with? Plus if she did date a reporter, that scribe would have the inside skinny on the notorious reality star.
And apparently Kate thinks she is quite the score. “Kate’s confidence is amazing,” a source told Shuter. “She thinks she is a fantastic catch. Not only does she think she has never looked better, Kate also now has a ton of money. As far as she’s concerned, there is nothing not to like. She’s beautiful, rich and thinks of herself as very easy to get along with.”

There was a day when reality TV was merely a voyeuristic look inside real people’s real lives; The Loud Family, Wife Swap, and the early days of Jon and Kate Plus Eight. But marketers, promotion departments and advertisers have become savvier; they’ve figured out that reality TV is a perfect platform for promoting goods, services and vacation spots.
Most reality stars are completely complacent and conscience of their role – usually passively – as pitchman. But kids? They don’t know any better. They don’t know they’re being used to sell a product or place. The Gosselin eight? Continue reading »
