Google is replacing its CEO. Google co-founder Larry Page will become CEO, taking over for Eric Schmidt. Schmidt has been the company’s CEO since 2001 but effective April 4, 2011, Schmidt is out as CEO.
Eric Schmidt will stay on as Google’s executive chairman. According to Huffington Post, “Schmidt joked about the management shake-up on Twitter, tweeting, ‘Day-to-day adult supervision no longer needed!’” Continue reading »

The Google corporate logo has been replaced by a Holiday Google Doodle on its homepage today. The holiday “Google Doodle” will be in place until Christmas Day, December 25th!
The holiday inspired Google Doodle has taken a considerable amount of time to achieve and the artists behind the holiday Google doodle have been working since July to create the design. Michael Lopez, Google’s chief doodler and his team of five artists took a total of 250 hours spanning over five months to create the holiday Google doodle, according to the Wall Street Journal. Have you seen the new Google Doodle? It is all set for the Christmas holiday!
This year, Google has changed their doodle several times. It started out as a joke with just a slight change and now there have been bouncing balls, John Lennon-inspired, a Thanksgiving doodle, and even Pac-Man.
Reese Witherspoon Talks Divorce With Ryan Phillipe In EW Magazine.
Reese Witherspoon is featured on this week’s cover of Entertainment Weekly and in the adjoining interview she talks her divorce from Ryan Phillipe, Googling herself, and whether or not she’s getting married!
“It definitely sometimes feels like a suit that I wish I could zip off,” the Academy Award-winning actress tells the magazine (via JustJared.com) about her divorce. “But I don’t feel bad about any of the things I’ve gone through, whether it’s divorce or breakups or anything like that, because that’s all part of the life journey, and I have those experiences just like anyone else.”

You know how when you go to Google there is always a different design, like a beach umbrella for summer or a leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day? Well, the Internet mega-giant held a contest for kids to submit their own artwork for a chance to have pretty much everyone in the country see it! It will run for 24 hours on May 27.
There were over 33,000 students ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grade that submitted designs in Google’s 2010 Doodle 4 Google Contest. The theme was “If I could do anything, I would…” The winner, with an amazing rainforest habitat drawing, is El Dorado Springs, Missouri native Makenzie Melton who is just 9 years old. When asked about her drawing, she said that the ”rainforest is in danger and it is not fair to the plants and animals. I love everything except spiders and snakes, but I would still save them.”
Aside from just having her artwork seen by gajillions, Makenzie also gets a $15,000 college scholarship, a netbook computer, and a $25,000 grant for a computer lab at her school. I think someone is going to be popular!
