Over the years, TLC has had it all covered, from dating to marrying to births to babies (to multiple babies—hello John and Kate!). So it’s no surprise that, finally, they’re filling in their one gap: Conception. If that subject seems a little racy for daytime TV, the series, launched late last month, is decidedly PG-13. Also, it’s available only on the web.
They’ve selected six trying-to-concieve women to tell their stories. The women film videos of themselves as they hope for a baby, test to see if they’re pregnant, and try again. They then send this footage in to TLC for editing and web-posting. The women also keep blogs on TLC’s site.
So why is this series suddenly controvertial?
Demi Moore is saying that she wants to get pregnant — to have her first baby with husband Aston Kutcher (she already has three with ex-husband Bruce Willis). Sound like old news? That’s because every year this story surfaces, and within weeks it fades. That’s probably because, well, Demi may want another baby, but as she ages, it’s getting less and less likely that she’ll be able to have one completely biologically on her own.

It was just too good to be true. Only a couple of days ago, I was beaming with positive energy because Octomom was going to lose her crown to a Tunisian mom with a dozen buns in the oven.
