A dutiful wife visits her troubled husband in the facility where he’s temporarily housed and it makes the news. No, I’m not talking about Tiger Wood’s visit by wife Elin Nordegren. Balloon hoaxer Richard Heene was visited by his wife Mayumi for the first time in jail over the weekend.

ying liar Richard Heene, who lied about his son Falcon being trapped in a runaway balloon, reported to Larimer County Detention Center in Fort Collins, Colorado on Monday to begin serving his 90-day sentence for lying. Did I mention I think this guy is a liar?
The parents of “Balloon Boy” Falcon Heene have agreed to a plead guilty to charges of “attempting to influence a public servant” and “false reporting to authorities” tomorrow. Richard and Mayumi Heene are turning themselves in to a county judge in order to secure lighter penalties and prevent Mayumi from being deported back to Japan. Continue reading »

While the sad and frightening story about the missing six-year-old Falcon Heene and his floating away in the family’s storm chasing, experimental aircraft continues to unfold we thought we’d shed some light on the family.
Richard and Mayumi Heene have three boys, one of which witnessed Falcon climb into the homemade balloon that traveled a total of 50 miles, at heights over 7,000 feet, from their Fort Collins home. The Heene family has been featured on ABC’s hit show Wife Swap.
