Has the Speidi reign finally come to an end? MTV “Hills” stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have reportedly taken a large step towards the divorce that everyone saw coming from the start.
According to TMZ, “Montag authoriz[ed] the service of her divorce papers to Pratt [and] last week, Pratt reportedly received and signed the papers.” The couple has been married since April of 2009. Montag commented that, “this has been a heartbreaking experience to go through, and it’s not that I don’t love Spencer. We just want different things in life.”
Hm. Could those “different things in life” be children? Despite Montag’s desire to start a family with Pratt, the clueless couple never saw eye-to-eye on the subject. Is starting a family something that you would compromise to be with the one that you love?
According to People, Hung star Thomas Jane and wife Patricia Arquette have split yet again. They have been separated for the past year, though the Medium actress filed for divorce in 2009.
The couple, who wed back in May 2006, are parents to daughter Harlow Olivia Calliope Jane (age 7). Although the two could not reconcile their differences, they seem undeterred when it comes to being good parents.
A rep told the magazine, ” The split is completely amicable and their prime focus is their daughter. They ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”
That’s a very tactful move out of the celebrity parenting handbook. They may not have been husband and wife for long, but they will be parents forever.

Sandra Bullock was spotted in Long Beach with ex-husband Jesse James as they entered his West Coast Choppers office together on Monday. This is the first time the two have been seen together since Jesse’s cheating scandal became public. The award-winning star went into hiding in late June prior to divorcing her husband of almost five years.
James has reportedly purchased a $2 million mansion in Austin, Texas to move his family closer to Bullock. Daughters Sunny and Chandler and son Jesse Jr. will be moving to Texas with their father, as Sandra wants to maintain the co-parent bond with his kids. Even in a town where most marriages have the longevity of a tube of mascara, this breakup is notable: “One Tree Hill’s” Jana Kramer and husband Johnathon Schaech have split. They were married for one month, and no, that’s not a typo. One month. Thirty days.
So not only will they not be having kids, they’ll also be returning a lot of wedding presents. One month? Isn’t that the equivalent of leaving someone at the altar, give or take a honeymoon?
Of course, as is the way in Hollywood, they’re not saying why. Here’s our take on what caused the split.
Recently, the Gosselin house in Reading, Penn., has been parent-free. Eight kids, two (or more nannies), but no mom or dad. All of that changed today, when both Kate and Jon converged on the Gosselin home. It looked as if there might be a fracas — both Gosselin parents at the same time! — but alas, that never quite happened. Think: ships passing in the day. It’s been a trying, troublesome spring in Hollywood. Troublesome for celebrity marriages, with a record number of famous parents breaking up. And troublesome for celebrity bloggers, as we try to keep them all straight. In that vein, I’ve put together a list of all of the celebrity-parent breakups since the beginning of March, and offer my verdicts on each. Break out the hankies, here we go, starting with the most recent:
Tammy and Melissa Etheridge, they have twins together (son Miller and daughter Johnnie Rose). Verdict: sad and unexpected.
When I heard about the news about Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes separating, I was sad. I guess the news was a bit of a shock because there were no rumors circulating beforehand. I’ve felt this way about other celebrity couples before, haven’t you?
