Sandra Bullock adopted Louis from New Orleans in 2010.
Plenty of people all over the United States have adopted children, whether they were unable to conceive on their own, or simply wanted to offer a loving home to a child who may not otherwise have one. Celebrities are huge fans of adoption, and though we don’t see what goes on behind the scenes, it does seem like the adoption process goes a bit smoother and more quickly for high profile parents.
Celebrity parents have adopted kids from the United States, but also other places in the world. Giuliana and Bill Rancic have been unsuccessful in becoming pregnant thus far, and they are even considering adopting a child from Italy.
Nia Vardalos adopted a baby girl.
Nia Vardalos of My Big Fat Greek Wedding is on the cover of Guideposts magazine and within the pages she discusses her decision to choose foster adoption as well as becoming the spokesperson for National Adoption Day.
Here is an excerpt from the article:
“What I didn’t know then is that there is no damage that has been done to a child that can’t be undone with love. I have met so many kids who have been adopted from foster care and have gone on to live fantastic, productive lives. It’s why I became the spokesperson for National Adoption Day.”
Natalie Portman Is Pregnant With Child.
There certainly is a celebrity baby boom going on all over Hollywood with expectant mothers ranging from Mariah Carey to Pink! But what this baby boom is lacking is the presence of adoptions.
Just this past week, Tina Fey announced she was pregnant with her second child. In addition to Fey, Jewel, Alyssa Milano, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, and Pink are just a few of the big names taking part in the celebrity baby boom this year.
And as of late, the only celebrities that come to mind when thinking about adoption is Sandra Bullock, Katherine Heigl, and this week’s Mariska Hargitay.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Neil Patrick Harris, and Ricky Martin all used a surrogate to conceive children.
Sandra Bullock is really enjoying motherhood! Why shouldn’t she? Not only is it proving therapeutic in easing the pain caused by her split with Jesse James, but it marks the beginning of a fresh new start for the Oscar winner. Friends have called her a “natural” and every photo has shown her with a facial expression of pure calm and content.
Sandra has only had little Louis Bardo since January, but is already planning on adopting another child! “Sandra wants to look back at this period in her life not as the year her marriage to Jesse ended, but instead, as the time when she took home her babies,” a source tells InTouch.
Can you guess who Madonna’s biggest fan is? It’s David. Woo hoo! She’s raising a rocker.
