In honour of today being 90210 day, here is a listing of my top 5 favourites 90210 moments.
#5 Kelly and Brenda wear the same dress to the Spring Dance – Brenda and Dylan finally do it!
In what was one of the best graduation episodes ever – Kelly shows up to the Walsh house pre-prom wearing the same dress as Brenda – the horror! The two decide to stick it out and at prom Brenda and Dylan sneak off to a room that Dylan rented for them and finally consummate their relationship. Steve confronts ex-girlfriend Kelly that he’s upset that it’s his birthday and she forgot, and he just found out he was adopted. Awesome episode!
Many of us grew up totally addicted to Beverly Hills, 90210, and now today, September 2nd, 2010, has been deemed “90210″ day in honor of the day, month, and year that will only happen once per century.
Celeb mom Nicole Richie, who is mom to daughter Harlow and son Sparrow, was especially nostalgic for the series and even tweeted about it earlier today. She posted the following to her Twitter profile:
“Today is 9-02-10″ and added the hash-tag “BeverlyHills90210Forever.” For those who aren’t familiar with Twitter lingo, a hash-tag is basically just the pound sign put in front of a word or words to make the term searchable to others who are interested in the same subject.
There were hundreds of people who retweeted Nicole’s tribute to 90210.
Today is 90210 Day – so proclaimed because it’s 9/02/10 on the calendar and because it’s the zip code of the coolest mid-’90s show ever! It also happens to be my birthday, so I’m particularly psyched. I came up with 10 ways to celebrate the original Beverly Hills 90210 cast, many of whom are now parents (Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green) or for years behaved like children (Shannen Doherty; since reformed).
1. Buy a scrunchie that matches your plaid silk shirt and make like Brenda and Kelly during the early 90210 years.
2. Waver between two girls (Kelly and Brenda). Repeat over and over and over again.
3. Start a campaign to warn nerds about hooking up with the first hot guy who shows interest in them in college so that they can avoid Andrea’s fate (getting pregnant in college).
Today is September 2, 2010, which means that it is 09/02/10, which means that it’s 90210 day! Beverly Hills, 90210 was the show of my generation! I grew up Brenda and Kelly, Brandon and Dylan, David and Donna and even Steve and Andrea. I lived vicariously through my favourite high school students, wishing I had my own Peach Pit to hang out at. I wanted Brenda’s hair, Kelly’s clothes, and both of their boyfriends! In a nutshell, I lived and breathed Beverly Hills 90210. I believe that this show was what started my obsession with pop culture.
So on today, 90210 day, I thought it might be nice to revisit our favourite cast members and see where they are today! Continue reading »
