Michelle Obama To Pen Book About White House Garden.
First Lady Michelle Obama has always been an advocate for healthy living and in spirit of that stance she will be writing a book about her White House garden.
Mrs. Obama has inked a deal with Crown Publishing Group, where she will write a book about the kitchen garden she started at the White House and her efforts to champion healthy habits for Americans.
The Christian Science Monitor says:
“The as yet untitled book will be published in April 2012. It is expected to include an explanation from Mrs. Obama as to what inspired her to plant the first edible garden on the White House’s South Lawn since Eleanor Roosevelt’s World War II era “victory garden.” She will also share some of her family’s favorite healthy recipes, said Crown, a unit of Random House publishers.
A NJ School Named After Barack Obama Will Close.
A central New Jersey elementary school in Asbury Park, NJ and named after President Barack Obama is slated to close.
The state monitor who oversees financial operations for the Asbury Park School District said that decline in enrollment was the reason for the decision.
The school will officially close on July 1 of this year.
Students who attend the school will be reassigned to two other elementary schools in the district.
The school was formerly known as Bangs Avenue School.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle will not be attending the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton come April 29, 2011.
According to reports, Prince William and Kate want their wedding to take place in front of ordinary citizens.

Barack Obama Children's Book "Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters"
Just two days after it was announced, President Barack Obama’s book “Of Thee I Sing: A Letter To My Daughters” has already become a hit in the American book-buying scene. The children’s book, which is a tribute to 13 American trail-blazers, was included in the top 25 on BarnesAndNoble.com and Amazon.com as of early Wednesday morning. The astonishing part? The book isn’t even scheduled to hit the shelves until November 16th!
Chip Gibson, the president and publisher for Random House children, spoke about the book in a statement released on Monday stating, “It is an honor to publish this extraordinary book, which is an inspiring marriage of words and images, history and story. Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters’ celebrates the characteristics that unite all Americans — the potential to pursue our dreams and forge our own paths.”
Sounds like quite the book to me!
