Producer’s Guild of America gave The King’s Speech its top honor last night. The King’s Speech won best-produced film from the Producers Guild of America, instead of the film which has swept awards season so far, The Social Network.
As the countdown grows closer to the February 27 Oscars, given out by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, last night’s award for The King’s Speech were especially important.
In the last three years, the Producer’s Guild of America and the Academy have agreed on best picture winners.
The Producer’s Guild of America television award went to Modern Family for best-produced television comedy series. Best produced drama went to the AMC hit, Mad Men. Award season is here so it’s time for all those stars of the small and big screen to call the sitters and get all dolled up for the red carpet. The lucky ones won’t just get the designer duds and fancy hair-do but they’ll bring home an award or two, or even three (if you’re someone like Meryl Streep that is). But besides who won what, we care who wore what.
