“Teen Mom 2″ Jenelle Evans Fires Back: I’m NOT Giving Up My Son!
The Teen Mom crew gets a lot of flak for their lifestyles and not-always-wise choices. Whether it’s their relationships, partying ways or decisions regarding their children, these young parents are always under the spotlight. Most of the time, the girls keep quiet in the face of all the criticism and rumors, but sometimes they feel they have to speak out to save their reputations.
And Jenelle Evans wants you to know that there’s no truth to the new report that she wants her mother to adopt her son, Jace.
Jenelle signed over custody of the boy, now 2, to her mom so that she could devote her energies to getting her life back on track. She went to rehab to kick her marijuana habit, took parenting and anger-management classes and recently began studying to become a medical assistant.
But according to Reality Weekly, Jenelle wants to ditch her responsibilities toward her little boy.
A source told the magazine that the young mom is tired of handing over child-support funds to mom Barbara. “Jenelle would rather spend her time and money on herself than her son, which is why she wants her mom to officially adopt him,” says the insider. “Jenelle always chooses partying over spending time with Jace.” The story goes on to say that Jenelle often blows off visits with her son in favor of going out with her friends.
But Jenelle says: Wrong!
Last night, she took to Twitter to shoot down the rumor. “My mother will never adopt jace,” she said curtly. “That tabloid is just another lie. As usual..I’m getting myself 100% straightened out before I get him back.”
Though Jenelle’s recovering from minor surgery – she had her tonsils out on Tuesday – she found time to answer questions from fans. She calls rehab the “best decision I made in my life” and swears “I quit smoking marijuana period forever. I get random drug test at school for being medical assistant.”
She doesn’t say exactly when she’ll consider herself “100% straightened out,” but for now we have to take Jenelle’s word that she hasn’t given up on being a mom.
