Everyone’s just sooooo psyched over the rumor that Emily Maynard may be the next star of The Bachelorette. What a thrill! What an opportunity! What a chance for this lovely-but-unlucky-in-love lady to find true happiness at last!
What a huge honkin’ mistake!
Look, it’s not like I don’t wish Emily all the best. Of course she deserves happiness after all she’s been through – the tragic death of her fiance, raising her daughter as a young single mom, her time on The Bachelor that ended with a humiliating broken engagement to Brad Womack.
But is she really going to find that bliss by putting herself back on the show and subjecting herself to endless scrutiny and gossip again? Especially now that her daughter Ricki is 6 – old enough to start to understand what’s going on in her mom’s life?
Not that she’s going to listen, but here are some thoughts on why Emily should say no to ABC’s offer and explore other ways to find a husband. A dating site has to be a saner alternative to another round of rose ceremonies!
