Queen Latifah Wants to Adopt a Baby!
Queen Latifah would like to bring a little prince or princess into her castle!
At a promotional event for her new movie, Joyful Noise, the Queen told Access Hollywood that she’s very open to the idea of adopting a child. “I would like to [adopt]. Why not? You know, why not?” she said.
Costar Dolly Parton is all for it. “You know, you should get kids,” she told Queen.
The rapper-turned-actress says that as a mom, she would have a lot in common with the character she plays in the movie.
“I would be like Vi Rose in a lot of ways,” she said. “My kids would be raised properly. They would be raised with values and morals and God, but I don’t think I would be like Vi Rose in the other ways.” (Vi is a stubborn traditionalist who clashes both with her own family and with Dolly’s more open-minded character, G.G.) “I would probably allow them to be themselves a little more and explore their gifts and their talents. I’d try to be more like my mom.”
Queen made no mention of having another parent in her future kids’ lives, but that isn’t surprising; she’s notoriously guarded about her private life. (Many reports have linked her to personal trainer Jeannette Jenkins, though she has never spoken about the relationship.)
No matter. With or without a partner, Queen would make a royally terrific mom. Here’s hoping she moves forward with her plans soon and joins Jillian Michaels and other stars who have enriched their families through adoption.
