Selena Gomez Reveals the Name of Her Mom’s Miscarried Baby
Selena would have had a little sister.
Having a miscarriage is a painful ordeal for any mom, emotionally as much as physically. Some women choose to deal with their grief privately – if the loss occurred early in the pregnancy, they may not even tell friends they were expecting in the first place.
Other parents, most notably the Duggar family, find solace in sharing their sorrow publicly. Like the Duggars, they may write messages to the unborn child or let the world know the name they would have given to the baby.
That’s the path Selena Gomez and her family have chosen. After her mother, Mandy Teefey, suffered a miscarriage earlier this month, Selena canceled two of her concerts so she could go home to support her family.
The family spent a quiet and sad holiday together, but Selena still found the time – and the grace – to send her many fans a message of gratitude and share some personal news.
On her Twitter and Facebook accounts, the 19-year-old singing star wrote, “I can’t thank you enough for all your thoughts and prayers. I love you all so much. I hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas!”
She signed the message, “Love, Me, Momma, Brian and our guardian angel Scarlett.”
