Television host Giuliana Rancic broke the news this morning that she has breast cancer.

The E! Entertainment channel star revealed the news on the Today show this morning, stating that she found out during her third attempt to get pregnant through in vitro fertilization.

“I have early stages of breast cancer,” she told Today co-host Ann Curry, explaining that during her third round of IVF treatments, her doctor had her get a mammogram, which had detected the cancer.

Speaking about why her first two IVF treatments failed she said, “God was looking out for me.  Now I know he was actually looking out for me, had I gotten pregnant, a few years down the like I could have been a lot sicker.”

Giuliana adds that when she is done with her current treatment, her and husband Bill Rancic will continue trying for a baby.  And when that does happen, she says, “That baby will have saved my life.  It’s a sign.”

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Giuliana and wish her a speedy recovery.
