Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, & Suri Visit Pittsburgh Area Pumpkin Patch Unannounced and Unbothered!
I may live in Connecticut now, but I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I will always consider it to be my hometown. Every time I go there, it is like coming home. It’s one of those towns where everyone is outgoing and friendly, and where everyone living there makes you feel welcome in their city.
Judging from a weekend excursion that Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and their daughter Suri took to a pumpkin patch in Wexford, PA, outside of Pittsburgh, I’d say that even celebrities feel at ease in that town. Tom is currently working on his new movie, “One Shot,” which is being filmed in the city.
Tom, Katie, and Suri showed up totally unannounced at Soergel’s Orchards for their fall festival. One of the orchard family members, Reed Soergel said, “The little girl (Suri)– she’s cute as a button. Most of the customers who were here did not know it because there was no big following.”
It sounds like the Cruise clan had a wonderful time at Soergel’s! Another family member, Katie Morrison said, “Suri had her face painted. She played in our little straw pile that the kids were all playing in – jumping around in straw and then they took a horse drawn wagon ride with my husband and I.”
Supposedly Tom, Katie, and Suri did have bodyguards with them, but they stayed behind them and let them enjoy the day.
Honestly, there aren’t very many cities in the United States where people as high profile as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes could enjoy a “normal” day of fall fun as a family.
It just makes me even more proud to say that I’m from Pittsburgh.
