Suri 199x300 Suri Cruise Starts Kindergarten! Is She Going To A Scientology School?

Suri is now in Kindergarten!

It looks like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ little girl is all grown up!  America’s most fashionable five-year-old, Suri Cruise, has officially started her elementary school education and was spotted leaving an upscale educational institution in Calabasas, Ca. last week along with her mother, Katie.

The pint-sized fashionista, who has spent most of her time in New York City this summer taking gymnastics classes, sported cute pigtails, a blue summer dress and silver ballet flats when she was picked up by her mother and family bodyguards.  She also accessorized her look with a pink tiara and red nail polish for her first day of school.

It looks like young Suri has started kindergarten at the New Village Leadership Academy, which was founded by family friends Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.  The school has attracted controversy and speculation over its use of Study Technology, a teaching methodology developed by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.

According to the Smiths though, the school has no religious affiliation.

Some of the subjects that will be in Suri’s curriculum include mathematics, literacy, Spanish, karate, yoga, robotics, technology, etiquette, art, and living schools.

Let’s hope Suri does great and school and feels at ease making new friends.  Let’s just hope the paparazzi don’t get a hold of her report card!

Study tech” as used in scientology schools is badly flawed and while Hubbard may have created it with the best intentions all it serves to do is supress critical thinking and promote Hubbard as the humanitarian he wasn’t.

The problem with “study tech” is the dogmatic belief that all problems or questions a student has with a subject are the result of misunderstood words in the text; the result of any question is a requirement to find the misunderstood word(s) and follow a lengthy and tedious process to “understand” them. This approach serves to stop students asking questions which conditions them to simply follow anything they are taught even if they don’t understand it; ideal if you want to indoctrinate them in to a cult.

Scientology & “robotics.” Now there’s a winning combination.

It’s disingenuous to say that they have no religious affiliation.
They have to pay a license to Scientology to use the Study Tech. Additionally, all materials written by Hubbard are considered Scripture, including the study methods.
Although the study tech is fairly innocuous, it also comes with the Ethics Tech which is the core of the harmful aspects of scientology.

I realy feel sorry for this kid. I know she needs some normalization in th social arena but If New Village Academy is like other scientology based schools, it’s going to be rough ride. Her parents have literally spoiled her rotten and now they are sending her to a school where she is going to have to endure scientology ethics at such a young age ( as this is part of the program at other scientology baeed schools) If ethics tech is used, she won’t be able to get away with anything, that’s for sure. She’s spend many hours doing amends projects or being isolated. I don’t think Katie Holmes will tolerate that but she may never know what is going on because pareents are kept out of the loop on many things at these schools ( unless they need to know or it will help bring in more money by telling them.)

So maybe this is why she’s dragging the kid to Calabasas every day rather than one of the scientology based schools in there home area, Delphi Academy.

On the internet can be found many horror stories by adults who as children attended schools that used Scientology study and ethics tech. There is a recent fictionalized book written by a former student about what it was like to go to Delphi Academy in Oregon as a teen. Its called Symphony of Leif by Paul Csige. I recommend as a really good read in general and in particular to anyone wanting to understand the mindset of a scientology based school program.
