Matt Damon prides himself on being an overprotective daddy!

They say that there is no love as strong as the one a parent feels for their child.  Matt Damon proudly admits that he has been bitten by the overprotective bug when it comes to his daughters.  It’s a trait that is entirely endearing even if he may take it a bit far on occasion.

“I’m probably more protective than I’ve ever been now that I have children,” the actor admits. “My wife [Luciana]‘s nickname for me is ‘Red Alert.  I sometimes check to see if the kids are breathing.”

When it comes to parenting his girls — Stella, 10 months, Gia, 3, Isabella, 5, and step-daughter Alexa, 12 — Matt realizes that it is a fine line between being overprotective and being overbearing.  “I tend be a little overprotective without trying to be a helicopter parent,” Damon explains.
