No Pomp and Circumstance Here! 10 Celebrity Parents Who Were College Dropouts (Photos)
When I was growing up, the thought never crossed my mind for one second that I wouldn’t attend college after graduating from high school. I dreamed about what university I would wind up at since I was a little girl, and when the time came around to pick a school, I settled on a small place called “Elon College” to continue my studies.
Turns out Elon was about the most sheltered and boring place on the planet, so I wound up dropping out three days after I returned for my second semester. While I always knew I’d go to college, I never would’ve thought I’d become a college dropout!
Fast forward to the following fall, and I wound up at the University of Tennessee, happy as a clam. I went on to graduate with a B.A. in Psychology, and never regretted my decision to drop out of Elon for one second.
While plenty of celebrity parents have earned college degrees, some even from Ivy League schools, several of them can be labeled as “college dropouts” as well.
Reese Witherspoon is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, and she’s also incredibly smart. Before going full force with her career, Reese attended the prestigious Stanford University, where she pledged Gammi Phi Beta sorority. Reese only lasted one year at Stanford, and ultimately dropped out so she could have more time to act. In hindsight, she definitely made the right decision!
Here are photos of 10 other celebrity parents who never graduated from college.
