Alicia Silverstone Raising Baby Bear Blu as a Vegan
Alicia Silverstone's baby will be raised vegan
Alicia Silverstone is one of the most well known celebrity vegans around, so it should come as no surprise that she plans to raise her son vegan as well.
Silverstone, who is an animal rights activist, advocates the vegan lifestyle and wrote a book about it (The Kind Diet), says that she plans to have her son, Bear Blu, also follow the vegan lifestyle.
Silverstone explains, “Bear was grown on vegan food and we’ll continue nourishing him with a healthy diet…He’ll be eating an organic plant-based diet.”
Silverstone adds, “I intend to take great care of his precious new baby body so I’m committed to giving him nothing but the purest and most healthy food possible. We want to keep his immune system strong so that he’ll be super healthy – which is just one of the many reasons he’ll eat vegan.”
Alicia is so earth mother, huh?
We have no doubt that Bear Blu will thrive and appreciate the vegan diet – after all, if he’s never introduced to junk food, he’ll never know what he’s missing!

I’m all for her being vegan if that’s what she chooses and I think it’s great for her to raise her child that way. I’m just wondering why she would name her child Bear, that’s my dog’s name…I just think it’s strange but she follows in some interesting footsteps with other celebrities and the crazy things they name their kids. I just don’t know why you’d name your child something that would leave them open to ridicule…
