Modern Family Gets 17 Emmy Bids: Will They Win Big AGAIN?
Will Modern Family Be a Big Winner Again?
I don’t know about you but I love, love, love Modern Family. In past years the networks have focused their attention on reality programming, so it is totally refreshing that they’re putting their energy and resources into a good old comedy sit-com.
But Modern Family isn’t your regular sit-com. There is no laugh track, there is no pomp and circumstance, there is just laughs, giggles and a tender lesson about being part of a family in each and every episode. And us viewers aren’t the only ones embracing this madcap and eclectic very modern family, Hollywood paid tribute to them with a stunning seventeen Emmy nods.
But will they come out as the big winner (again) and what were they nominated for?
Last year, Modern Family got themselves 14 nominations, so they beat that record and got 17 nods this year. Some of the highlights for their nominations this year are for:
Best Comedy Series
Best Comedy Supporting Actor: Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O’Neill and Eric Stonestreet (nabbing four of the six spots)
Best Comedy Supporting Actress: Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara.
Last year they won the big award for most outstanding comedy and this year they’re going against 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, The Office and Parks and Recreation. The biggest threats? That would probably be 30 Rock or Glee. But time will tell, will Modern Family be able to defend their title?
