Pink Donates Money From Willow Sage’s First Photos to Charity
As if we didn’t already love new mom Pink enough for keeping it real after giving birth to daughter, Willow Sage, we adore her even more after learning that she donated the money she earned from Willow’s first baby photos to charity. Pink sold the rights to the photos to PEOPLE, and released a statement on why she and Carey Hart decided to do so.
Pink said, “Carey and I decided that we would release personal photos of our Willow, and donate all of the money to charity. We will be donating the money to children’s’ charities, among them one of our favorites, the Ronald McDonald House, an organization that houses and cares for the families of sick children so they can be together during treatment, as well as Autism Speaks.”
Pink also added that she felt better about releasing the photos to people rather than being hounded by photographers. She said, “Due to the unsettling, surprisingly aggressive and unsafe measures that the paparazzi seem to be willing to go to in order to secure that ‘first shot’ of our daughter — stalking us, chasing us in cars and sitting outside of our home all day and all night, as new parents Carey and I decided that we would release personal photos of our Willow, and donate all of the money to charity.”
Pink and Carey Hart join the ranks of two other famous couples who chose to sell their baby photos to benefit charities. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt supposedly ranked in a whopping $14 million for pictures of twins, Knox and Vivienne, while Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes donated the $4 million they got for Suri’s photos to charity as well.
It’s nice to see celebrities using their power for such great causes!
