Dad To Be Benjamin Millepied Talks Impending Parenthood With Fiance Natalie Portman
Benjamin Millepied has not been the most forthcoming about his relationship with Natalie Portman or their child who will be born any day now. The French born dancer for the New York City Ballet, for the most part, has kept quiet about his private life.
He says the dancing world is quite different from Hollywood life and his dancer friends are not impressed with the glamorous world that fiance, Natalie Portman inhabits.
Yet despite his lack of love for the media, Millepied says he is excited about fatherhood and all the new experiences it will bring to his life. In an article in USA Today, he says:
“I’m going to take a lot of time off to enjoy this new stage of life that I’m really looking forward to. It’s the unknown, and there’s something so exciting when you know life one way and you can do all kinds of projects and exciting things, but this is going to be so different and new, and I love that idea.”
The couple split their time between New York and Los Angeles where Millepied can enjoy being left alone:
“At this point, I’m not recognized. You can make a choice of where you live and how you live your life. Those things make a difference in regards to your privacy. It’s incredibly important for mental health and also to be able to live as a human being and as an artist to feel free. The privacy aspect is a matter of choice. Staying private is a good thing.”
