Six weeks is too long for one Bachelor to be away from his daughter

You have to realize when you go on The Bachelorette or The Bachelor that you are pretty much cut off from everyone in your life for about six weeks if you keep getting roses. So, you have to be able to separate yourself from work, family, and friends for that long.

So, I always wonder about the single parents who go on the show. That’s a really long time to be away from their kids.  Jason Mesnik and Emily Maynard did it and America fell in love with them both.  It makes a good storyline to watch a single parent fall in love on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette.

But, one of the bachelors on this season of The Bachelorette obviously didn’t think this through at all!

Bentley Williams is a divorced dad to two year-old Cozette, “Cozy.” By episode three, he decides that he misses his daughter way too much to continue on the show. So, he quits the show after a group date.

From the Reality Steve spoilers, it already seems like there is something sketchy about this guy. Someone had warned Ashley that Bentley Williams was there for the wrong reasons. After he eliminates himself, he ends up coming back in episode six to talk to Ashley, though he doesn’t return as a contestant.

Maybe he wanted to try to redeem himself for whatever bad behavior he reportedly shows on The Bachelorette. A good idea since his daughter could grow up to watch him on the show!

Do you think that single parents should be contestants on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette?

It is six weeks out of their kids wholel life. I think it will be ok as long as there is someone trustworthy to take care of them – IF the contestant can do it. It has go to be hard, but this guy flaked and that is not good.

I have always wanted to try out for Surivivor, but the time away from my kids is definitely a factor. That and I don’t have fake ones, which seems to be a requirement. :)

After watching Monday’s episode, I really don’t like that guy Bentley. I know he leaves the show but if he comes back to clear his name, I don’t think there is anything that he could say to make himself look good again. The guy is a creep! He said some horrible things about Ashely and made himself look like a disgusting pig, there is no excuse for his behavior. As for single parents going on the show, everyone deserves love. If they have a chance of finding true love, I can understand why they might take it.
