Experts Say Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Youngest Kids Will Suffer Most From Scandal
Arnold & Maria Shriver's youngest kids will suffer most after scandal.
In the wake of the whole Arnold Schwarzenegger affair scandal, we can’t help but to wonder what kind of effect this is going to have on his four kids with Maria Shriver, and his other child, whose identity we don’t yet know.
Most of Arnold’s kids are older, and will likely be able to handle what is going on with their parents without too much disruption to their lives. Arnold’s youngest two kids, however, are who experts say will suffer the most.
The child that Arnold fathered is estimated to be about 10-years-old, and Arnold and Maria Shriver’s youngest son, Christopher, is 13.
Jennifer Hartstein is a child and family psychologist who talked to Hollybaby.com about how the scandal will affect the kids. She said that Christopher could possibly “act out”, and added, “We can assume Christopher is in the flow of becoming an adolescent and his whole idea of what a relationship is has been thrust into turmoil. He’s going to have a lot of questions.”
She also addressed Arnold’s 10-year-old child and said, “At 10, there’s going be a lot of questions. They are going to wonder why they were kept a secret. And there will be a lot of anger, disblelief and curiosity and identity questions.”
Another child psychologist, Dr. Susan Abbott, had some advice for Arnold: “I think he should acknowledge that it was wrong and a mistake. That would be a first step for his kids. If he fails to make that step it will be more difficult for them.”
This entire scandal with Arnold Schwarzenegger should serve as a reminder to parents to think of what kind of consequences their actions will have as far as the well-being of their children goes.
