What Tori Spelling woke up to this morning

Call it co-sleeping or call it the family bed: it’s allowing your children to sleep in bed with you.  Some parents practice it and other would rather have their beds to themselves.

Tori Spelling tweeted this cute pic this morning and said, “This is what I woke up to this morning. Perfect way to start the day…” So, her family is okay with co-sleeping.

I co-slept with my babies out of desperation so that I could get some sleep with they were young. Now, I want them to spend the night in their own rooms.  But, co-sleeping is a popular practice. Find out what other celeb moms have a family bed:

Kourtney Kardashian, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and Heidi Klum and Seal all let their kids sleep in bed with them

While parents who practice co-sleeping say that it’s something that bonds them together as a family, I need my sleep and want some privacy every once in a while.

Do you believe in a family bed or do you believe everyone should be in their own beds?

We also co-slept out of desperation with my daughter. We finally got her to sleep in her own bed this past year when she started Kindergarten. It was such a fantastic night that first night. She still sneaks in once in a while when she is scared and we let her sleep with us because we are just to exhausted to put up a fight. We do make a big deal out of it when she sleeps all night in her room. It is the best sleep ever!

I think there should be limits. I had friend who’s daughter co-slept till 11 years. I think that maybe going too far.

I, like you need what very little sleep I can get. It doesn’t happen if I have kids in my bed. My infants slept in my room in a cradle (one in a stroller, his preference), once they were too mobile for a cradle they were moved to their own room in the crib. It’s what worked for us.

Go them! cosleeping is natural and wonderful. I loved it! My girls were all ready for their own bes by two but they still make their way into my bed in the morning. <3 I absolutely love snuggling with them, and it's even better with hubby deployed.

We’ve co-slept with all of our children from day 1 =) We love it! It makes night nursing easier, they sleep so much better and so do I! We usually move them out of our bed and into their own room around 12 -18 mos. We’ve never had any problems with that system.

They are always welcome back in bed with us whenever they wish. It’s very rare for them to want to come back to bed with us once they are about 2 or so – but if they get scared from a bad dream or a nasty storm they sneak in =)

So many of us have “Been There!” … Love this picture too!
I tried EVERYTHING, but seriously, the key to an easy bedtime is the book Good Night. It’s a great concept – A parenting book that comes with companion kid’s book to reinforce the concept. The Kids book is super cute (Matilda & Maxwell) – my daughter requests it every night and it makes bedtime easy! As a mother I can tell you that these books work!

Here is the info for any mommies (or daddies) that might need it. Good Luck!

There will come a day when our children don’t want much to do with us. Our child is welcome in our bed anytime. He slept with us from the start and while he now has his own room, he also has a bed in our room right up next to ours.
