Gwyneth Paltrow: Kids Keep Her From Expanding Her Career
Gwyneth Paltrow would “love to appear in a musical theater role”, but can’t. At least not right now.
Paltrow is too busy raising two young children with her Coldplay rocker husband Chris Martin, so for now, her focus is on motherhood.
“My kids are still at that age where I want to be home for bedtime and on weekends and if you do a play you’re out when they’re home. So it doesn’t make sense now, but maybe, someday.”
Motherhood is amazing and I understand where she’s coming from. So many celebs seem to have others raise their children so that they can continue to climb fame’s wall. For Gwyneth though, it’s the little things.
“Anybody can have this, it doesn’t matter if you’re having a really hard time, if you’re not where you want to be money-wise or success-wise, if you’re having a really nice glass of wine some homemade food and your kids telling a fart joke, that’s the best thing in life,” she said.
Gwyneth also released a cookbook called My Father’s Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family and Togetherness last month. She said that her father taught her the importance of family and love, and how that trumps everything.
“It’s something my dad taught me and it was really the impetus for the book because when we’d all gather around the table it was the high point of the day.”
Bravo Gwyneth! I may not be a huge fan of yours, but after reading your words and thoughts on motherhood and family, I’m slowly changing my mind.
