Did Kate Gosselin Really Ditch Her Kids For Mother’s Day?
There was quite a bit of speculation going around last week that Kate Gosselin, everyone’s favorite mom of eight, was planning on ditching her kids on Mother’s Day in favor of attending the Kentucky Derby.
Going to the Kentucky Derby is on a lot of mom’s bucket lists, but I don’t know that any mother, reality TV star or not, would actually choose a horse race over her children.
She definitely isn’t painted as “Mother of the Year” by the media, but Kate Gosselin wound up rushing home after the Kentucky Derby so that she could spend Mother’s Day with her little ones.
You can see a photo here of Kate looking great in a little dress and fancy hat at the Derby, but she was spotted back in travel attire at the airport not too long after that.
Even Kate Gosselin had her priorities straight on Mother’s Day. Did you?

Amanda commented on May 09 11 at 12:04 pmI’m not a big Kate Gosselin fan anymore, but this post was pretty mean. I don’t think that missing one Mother’s Day in favor of going to the Kentucky Derby is a big deal. It’s a special event that most people who get to go probably only do once in their lives. Even if she did miss Mother’s Day with her kids and celebrated it at another time, I don’t think it would mean that she “choose a horse race over her kids.” Get a grip.

shelly b commented on May 11 11 at 9:41 amI am a huge fan of Kate Gosselin and KATE PLUS 8. I am a widowed mother of 3 and I know how tough it is to raise children in todays times. I believe everyone is just to hard on Kate. JOHN is not the father he should be and should have been. This is why Kate was stressed. When you feel like your the only one who cares about the kids, house, chores, and demands, what else can you do. The kids clearly love her and the two older girls are obviously going through early tween issues..attitude ..being mean. I have 3 girls 1 tween..2 early teens and its not easy. One thing I was never able to do is have fun…me time…even when my husband was alive I never had it. I commend Kate for having a little fun in her very stressful life ..she made it home later on Mothers Day…by the way is KATES day not the kids. Its not like she decided not to be on the kids birthday yesterday!!! The media would be all over that if it happened but it would never happen…I would love to see what would happen if JOHN took her role with caring for 8 kids ..he would run away…by the way I dont see KATE PLUS 8 ON THE TV SCHEDULE FOR TLC
what happened!!!!! WE LOVE THE ADVENTURES THEY GO ON!!! KEEP YOUR HEAD UP KATE..
