No Dishes for Brooke Burke on Mother’s Day; She’s Taking the Day Off!
When Mother’s Day rolls around each year, how much different is the day from any other day in your house? Do you get to sleep in? Does your significant other spoil you by cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids so you can relax and maybe even get a mani/pedi?
At my house, it’s pretty much like any other day except that I do get to sleep in. But I’m still cooking, cleaning and changing diapers…but not actress Brooke Burke – she refuses to do dishes on Mother’s Day!
Brooke’s partner, and father of her two youngest children, David Charvet told PEOPLE that he has a relaxing day planned for her. “I’ll go to the fish market early in the morning and come back with whole branzinos, and cook a barbecue.”
The couple is expecting family at their house on Mother’s Day for a big, afternoon barbecue. Thirty-nine year-old Brooke is excited and also told PEOPLE: “My favorite fish, my favorite meal, and I don’t have to cook. None of the women have to cook or do the dishes.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” David replied playfully. “I said I was going to cook. I didn’t say that I was going to clean.”
Brooke says with a smile: “I’m not doing dishes on Mother’s Day!”
Brooke is the mother of four; her oldest two daughters are fathered by her ex-husband Garth Fisher, a plastic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles; 10 year-old Neriah (born in 2000) and 9 year-old Sierra Sky
Brooke and David have been engaged since 2006, but have yet to marry. They have two children together: 5 year-old daughter Heaven Rain and their 3 year-old son Shaya Braven.
I think I’m going to take a page out of Brooke’s book and request a meal that my husband has to shop for, prepare, cook, AND clean up! No dishes for me on Sunday!
