Pregnant in Heels’ Rosie Pope Talks Baby Shower Trends and Etiquette
Need advice on planning your baby shower? Or are you attending a baby shower and need some tips on how to be a good guest?
Rosie Pope, the star of “Pregnant in Heels” has some advice for you.
For the moms-to-be who don’t really need any baby gear (think: celeb moms- it’s not like they need all those presents since they can buy their little babes anything they want), the trend is to donate gear or money to the expectant mom’s favorite charity.
Other trends include men being involved in the baby shower or having a traditional English tea. Oooh, can we wear hats like the ones worn at the Royal Wedding?
Rosie says she loves when guests each bring a book to create a library for the baby and suggests that you provide stickers for inside the books so guests can each write a note to the baby inside the books. That’s a very sweet idea, though I admit that I’ve gotten annoyed at baby showers where I’ve been asked to bring a pack of diapers along with my present. But, since both book and diaper requests are becoming common, that could just be my own personal pet peeve.
As for guests, Rosie suggests we make use of the gift registry, since it’s there for a reason. She also reminds us not to tell the mom-to-be our labor stories and scare her. I try to refrain from sharing my labor stories because I have such fast labors that I barely get to the hospital on time.
Do you have any more baby shower tips to add?

Love you on Preg in Heels! What is the proper etiquette for having a baby shower for a second baby? Is this okay? Especially if its a different sex from the first?
Thanks so much
Laura
