David Beckham: A Celeb Dad Who Makes a Difference (VIDEO)
David Beckham isn’t just handsome and funny, he also supports important causes that help make a difference in the lives of children.
Beckham, dad to three boys and a little girl on the way with wife Victoria Beckham, spent Easter weekend having fun with the kids and even dressed up as the Easter Bunny. But he also made a serious plea to his fans around the world: buy a special Unicef soccer ball to help support poor children everywhere.
Beckham will be turning 36 on May 2nd, and he’s asking fans to give him a special birthday gift: buy a soccer ball online, and the balls will be delivered to children in the world’s most deprived communities.
Beckham has been a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador since 2005, a title he is “immensly proud” of. He saw first-hand how soccer (or football as it’s called throughout the rest of the world) can change lives while participating in a charity visit to Sierra Leone in 2008.
You can watch Beckham talk about his birthday wish in the video below.
